1. Information We Collect
TRAILTECH Monitor collects the following information to provide the service: your name and email address (provided during registration), camera telemetry data fetched from HuntControl on your behalf (battery levels, signal strength, firmware versions, storage status), notification settings you configure, event history generated by the monitoring system, and temporary sign-in verification codes (OTPs) sent to your email address during authentication.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to provide and improve the TRAILTECH Monitor service. This includes sending alert notifications to your configured email address, generating scheduled reports, displaying your camera fleet status, and securing your account. We do not sell, share, or use your information for advertising.
3. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored on a private virtual private server (VPS) hosted in New Zealand. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plaintext. Authentication uses secure HTTP-only cookies with JWT tokens. Daily encrypted backups are maintained. Access to the server is restricted by key-based authentication.
4. Data Retention
Alert and event logs are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted. Camera detection activity data (images and detection records synced from HuntControl) is retained indefinitely while your account is active, as it forms part of your historical record. Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting [email protected].
5. Cookies
TRAILTECH Monitor uses essential HTTP-only cookies solely to maintain your signed-in session. No advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies are used. Session cookies expire when you sign out or after 30 days of inactivity for trusted devices. You may delete cookies at any time via your browser settings; doing so will sign you out of the service.
6. Third-Party Services
TRAILTECH Monitor uses Resend (resend.com) to deliver transactional emails. Email addresses are passed to Resend only for the purpose of sending alerts and reports. If you configure optional integrations (Microsoft Teams or Telegram), alert data is sent to those services only when those integrations are enabled by you. No other personal data is shared with third parties.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
